Hydraulic presses operate by means of two or more synchronized hydraulic cylinders on the C-frames moving the upper or lower tooling. Servo-electric brakes use a servo-motor to drive a ball screw or belt drive to exert tonnage on the ram. Hydraulic presses have dominated the market since the late 1950’s because of their advantages in accuracy, safety and control. These presses can move up or down at any point in their operation and can even be tilted by putting different tonnages on each cylinder, for more complicated crowning control.

Accurpress CNC PRESS BRAKES

Through the years, countless advancements have been implemented with Accurpress CNC backgauging to accommodate the most high tech and complex applications. Gauging options are created from simplistic X-axis to multiple axes controls providing a solution for any type of bending scenarios. Accurpress also offers a wide array of backgauges from Premium to Supreme to Titan--all manufactured in their North American locations and offering unique features with a versatile ruggedness to handle any bending demand from precision sheet metal to the heaviest of plate forming.

What is a CNC Press Break?

Computer numerically controlled (CNC) bending is a manufacturing process that is carried out by CNC press brakes (also known as CNC brake presses).  These machines can bend sheet metal work from just a few mm across to sections many metres long on the largest industrial machines.  CNC press brakes either have a fixed bottom bed with the V block tooling clamped in place and a top beam which travels under force with the V blade tools this is known as down forming.  The opposite is an up forming machine with the bottom bend moving and the top beam fixed.  Both process methods will produce the same sheet metal components and there are no restrictions to the design of your component to suit either machine.
